More or less a solo act, Hazel-Rah is Byrnes's compositions for guitar, percussion, and synthesizer (specifically his CZ-101). So far, there are only five compositions to speak of: "Good-bye", "Kaleidoscope", "'Ty," "Protocolary," and "Wormwood."
Currently, there is only one Hazel-Rah recording, which contains the two original Hazel-Rah pieces and is for sale on CD-R only. It was recorded and edited by Colin Marston at the famous Queens, New York recording space Menegroth, The Thousand Caves. The guitar and percussion parts are played by Ben Greenberg and Andrew Greenwald respectively. Byrnes also features on the latest PAK release, Secret Curve.
Tim Byrnes has performed his Hazel-Rah compositions with a number of notable musicians.
Byrnes has written for and performed with several other projects. These include Candiria, Kayo Dot, Tartar Lamb and Friendly Bears[1].
